I’m now on Patreon!

Hey everyone, it would mean a lot to me if you would take the time to either read the information below or click on this link to my Patreon page to see what this new website is all about:

It’s an incredibly empowering tool for independent artists and I think that if enough people support me on there that it could really be a big step up for me in terms of the production quality of my music videos.  So in short, if you like what I’ve been doing on YouTube for the past 3 years and you want to support me in making higher quality music videos by pledging any amount for each new video I upload, I would be so incredibly grateful to have your support!

Following My Passion

If you’ve been following my channel for a while, you’ve probably noticed that the videos I post come in all different levels of production quality, so let me tell you why 😉  When I originally started posting to YouTube, I had a business day job, but I always hoped that my YouTube channel might turn into something more than just a side job – maybe someday I’d be able to turn it into a way to make a living while pursuing my passion of music.  At the beginning of 2012, I took a risk and quit my day job to pursue making an album and to continue uploading videos to YouTube in the hopes that it would be enough for me to continue pursuing music as my career.  With support from people like you who have been sharing my videos, purchasing my music and encouraging me in what I’ve been doing, I have been able to turn what I do on YouTube into a full time career and I am so grateful for that!!

Where Your Support Will Go

I’m at the point in my career where I truly believe I would greatly benefit from releasing more professional music videos.  I think there are still a lot of people who don’t realize that my music and videos are my only source of income and that this is my full time career, and I believe that partly has to do with the fact that a lot of my videos aren’t of a professional level of quality. So far I have invested what I could from my album sales back into my music to try and produce a couple of higher quality videos, but it’s not something that I can currently afford to do all the time.  My goal with Patreon is to use the money that you generously pledge to me to create higher quality music videos on a more regular basis. I would absolutely love to have that flexibility because I’ve seen what it can do for other people’s careers, and I would love to have some of those same opportunities. Another goal of mine is to eventually do some public performances or small tours so that I can go out and perform my music live and meet all of my amazing fans.  In order to get to that point, I need to build my reputation as a serious and professional musician more and releasing high quality music videos is a great way to do this.

Why I Need Your Support

Album and single sales currently provide me the means to continue pursuing music as a full time career while still being able to pay the rent, but my videos I upload to YouTube currently do not.  Because of the amount of video game/anime/film music I post, I am unable to license most of these songs to monetize with video advertisements, so I don’t end up making money off of most of my YouTube videos.  When I can monetize videos with advertisements, the money I receive from is so fractional that it actually isn’t even be enough for me to purchase a plane ticket to a video location, let alone the other production costs of hiring a videographer, equipment rental, other travel expenses, etc. When some people see how many views some of my videos have, they assume that millions of views translate into a lot of money for me, but in reality, I actually don’t currently have a way to make money off of most of my video views because of copyright issues. While I have absolutely no complaints about where I am financially (the fact that I’m able to make a living doing this is incredible to me!), I’m still not to the point where I can justify investing in these higher quality productions very often without assistance, and if I’m unable to get enough support then I might not be able to continue uploading as many performances of songs that I can’t monetize.

How to Help

If you want to help change that for me and support me in making new music videos, both originals and covers, it would mean so much to me if you would choose one of the pledge levels below and become a Patron! Please don’t feel any pressure to pledge outside of your budget, I completely understand that this isn’t for everyone (you can always change or cancel your pledge amount at any time with no restrictions or fees if it no longer works in your budgetit’s super flexible). Even if you’ve never supported me financially, watching/subscribing/liking my videos, all adds up and helps me move forward, and I appreciate that so much too. But if you’ve been enjoying watching my videos and want to have a direct role in helping me create newer and more exciting videos in the future, please consider being a Patron.  Any pledge level is SO helpful!  Thank you all SO much for your continued support. I hope you continue to enjoy what I post – I love you all!

My Interaction with Patrons

I am so excited to have a separate place to interact with my most supportive fans, and I have a lot of really fun ideas! I am looking forward to interacting in the activity stream where I’ll keep you all up to date as to what I’m currently working on, what I’m planning for the future, and what you guys would like to see more of (including requests!).  I’ll also really enjoy hearing your input on what types or rewards you guys would like me to make available, and what kind of interactions we might be able to do besides just messaging and Google Hangouts (maybe a Patron-Only game of League of Legends once in a while for you LoL fans ;)).  Can’t wait to get to know you guys, thank you so much for supporting me!

Hi, I'm Taylor,
your music career guide!

I’ve been a violinist for over 25 years and for over the past 10 years I’ve been building my skills and career as an independent musician. Within that time I’ve grown an online audience of over 3 million people, released 11 full-length albums (5 of which charted on the Billboard Charts) and traveled the world touring my own live show, all without ever signing with a record label. One of my greatest passions is helping other musicians learn and grow from my own knowledge and experiences through my Musician of All Trades courses.

I absolutely understand. I have to think ayear later again about it, I cannot right now, but the idea is great. I hope it will work

I’m so sorry but Patreon doesn’t accept PayPal and I’m a pupil and under 18 so i can’t have a credit card. I definately would support you that way if i could
